Dear Kind Parents,
Hope everyone is enjoying the season!
Here are some important updates since the weather is promising to snow and we might not have school for a couple of days. I will keep you updated as we get more information tomorrow via Remind!
Also, I do request that parents encourage/help their child at home to study Latin daily and follow up on grades every Friday.
Graded Latin tests were sent home yesterday. If your child didn’t pass HE/SHE will have to retake that test before we leave for the holidays on Tuesday the 18th. With that being said, there will be no Latin tests this coming Thursday so that they spend that time getting their Winter Village projects ready.
I have also shared with all my students geometry work via google docs to work on, as well as many of them chose to take catch up work, Wordly Wise books and History career journals to finish, in case we are out for a couple of days.
Winter Village Day- Thursday the 13th:
On Thursday, the children will set up the class in the morning and bring their Festival of light dish (sweet/savory) either in the morning or parents can drop it off before the start of our Winter Village festivities in class 6:15-7:15. Every child will set up an area for their project, food, artifacts, etc. They will great each visitor with their country’s language and talk about their Festival of Light and offer a sample of their food (remember to send serving paper products, napkins and silverware if needed). Parents, please have your child practice that with you focusing on why is that a festival of light and what is special about it.
We will start our Winter Village Presentations in class right after the Winter Ensemble at 6:15pm.
I am offering that day to all my students (who are not participating in the musical) that they can stay with me from dismissal till WV Ensemble, that is from 4:15-5:15 till all parents get to school. You will need to email me saying that it’s ok for your child to stay with me Thursday after dismissal from 4:15-5:15 and you will join them at the auditorium at 5:15. Please send a heavy snack or dinner if your child requires a full meal before the program and their formal outfit for our class Winter Village program. We will watch a movie and relax!
With that being said, if you are going to update your home décor and trying to get rid of some table lamps or lighteningand shelves/units/drawers please let me know or send me pictures, as we are need of some additional lamps and shelves.
As always, please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, concerns or comments and enjoy browsing our website!
Warmly,
--Ms. Amira

- Yesterday, we had our weekly Community meeting which was about keeping up with assignments and due dates which can impact their weekly work.
Also, I do request that parents encourage/help their child at home to study Latin daily and follow up on grades every Friday.

- It looks like it became another annual tradition in class, students requested to do Secret Santa/friend and exchange gifts on Tuesday the 18th. They drew out the names and agreed that the gift should be $5 or less. That same day, we are also going to do one of their favorite activities, Cabin logs and enjoy some hot chocolate and snacks provided by Ms. Hannah and I.
- Winter Village projects updates: Because of the anticipated snow and school closing, all projects are due by Wednesday (please do not send their research dish before Thursday). Students will present to class on Wednesday and formally Thursday during our Winter Village formal presentation. All students are required to attend unless prior arrangements have been made with me.
