Dear Kind Parents,
Can't believe we are into the 2nd Quarter already!
The children are busy working hard and getting into the grooves of their daily work assignments, showing better organization skills and building relationships within the community.
Our school Community is celebrating Diwali tomorrow and we are going to cook an Indian meal to go with the celebrations. Henna will be provided for 2 dollars.
Important Upcoming dates:

Can't believe we are into the 2nd Quarter already!
The children are busy working hard and getting into the grooves of their daily work assignments, showing better organization skills and building relationships within the community.
Our school Community is celebrating Diwali tomorrow and we are going to cook an Indian meal to go with the celebrations. Henna will be provided for 2 dollars.
Important Upcoming dates:
- This week we will have our Quarterly tests. These are assessment tests that assess students on mastery on all lessons learned in Quarter 1. We will have Science test (5th grade only) tomorrow, Reading Thursday (all grades) and Math Friday (all grades). Please try to keep a consistent routine and avoid having your child staying up late the nights before testing.
- Our 5th graders have a science lab/class focusing on the art of making soap and beauty products (a grant that Ms. Tricia and Candace got).
- Our class Thanksgiving Potluck is Thursday Nov. 15 from 12-1:30pm. Please come and join us for lunch!
- Holiday Make up pictures are Nov. 16th
- JT Williams visit new date is Nov. 19th (5th and 6th grades only)
- MTOS trip is from 11/26-11/28 Please go to our 6th grade trip page and print out CMS Medical form and fill it at your child's doctor for any medication they will need to take at MTOS. I administer their medication over there but I can't give even something as simple as tylenol without having it on the medication form, so I encourage you to start that soon and this will be valid for all future trips this year.
Warmly,
--Amira
